This meeting will take topics of interest to the aging research community and examine them from the basic level of bench science up through to work in humans.

In addition to the invited program there will be poster and oral presentations from submitted abstracts. The abstract submission deadline is March 20, 2002.

TRAVEL AWARDS: 15 Student and Minority Travel awards will be available to facilitate attendance at meeting.

PRE-MEETING: The Kronos Longevity Research Institute (TKI) and the International Society for Healthy Aging Research and Education (ISHARE) will sponsor a one-day program on June 7th entitled "Sarcopenia, Causes, Consequences, and Prevention."


Call for Abstracts: Oral and Poster Presentation

Pre- and Post- Doctoral Student Awards (up to $500)

Oral Presentation/Travel Award for Underrepresented Individuals (up to $1000)

Oral Presentation/Travel Award for Junior Faculty (up to $1000)

All abstracts must be received in the AGE office by March 20.

Presented abstracts will be printed in the Journal of the American Aging Association, July Issue.

Women, minorities and persons with disabilities are encouraged to submit abstracts and consider membership. Please contact the AGE office for details.

 

ANNUAL PRE- AND POST- DOCTORAL AWARDS IN BIOMEDICAL GERONTOLOGY


The Walter Nicolai Award for meritorious basic biologic aging research by a graduate student or medical student and the Paul Glenn Award for meritorious research in the area of biomedical gerontology by a post-doctoral fellow are presented at the annual meeting. The prizes are in the amount of $500.00 each for the Nicolai and Glenn awards together with a citation. The first runner-up for each award will be awarded $250.00. The abstract must be original, unpublished research, the results of which will be presented at the Annual Meeting of the American Aging Association. Abstracts should be mailed, to arrive by March 20, to: Awards Committee, American Aging Association, 110 Chesley Drive, Media, PA 19063 or FAX 610-565-9747 or email to ameraging@aol.com.

Be sure to note whether your abstract is for Pre- or Post-Doctoral Award.
