2007 Denham Harman Research Award Winner

Allen Taylor, PhD - USDA Human Nutrition Research on Aging at Tufts University

With over 170 publications and 5 concurrent grants, Dr. Taylor heads one of the top nutrition and vision research laboratories in the USA. 

In addition to his many other awards, Dr. Taylor has been a Senior Fulbright Fellow and has made consistent contributions to the area of vision and aging on many levels from the molecular to the clinical. His contributions are and have been innovative and have opened up new areas of investigation, which were followed by other investigators.  The ramifications of his work are very important as we try to extend healthy aging.

2007 Distinguished Achievement Award

Edward Masoro, PhD - University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio

Dr. Ed Masoro has been a leading figure in the study of the biology of aging for the past 40 years. In particular, this talented physiologist, author of many studies in metabolism in aging animals, is known for his seminal work in caloric restriction.

Dr. Masoro served as Chairman of the Department of Physiology, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio from 1973-1991, and is the founding Director of the Aging Research and Education Center and is currently
Professor Emeritus in its Department of Physiology.  Having won numerous awards, Dr. Masoro is still active and in demand for presentations and editor of chapters in several books on aging.
